Hello Dragons! Happy October! In the true spirit of Halloween I figured this months movie recommendations should be Halloween-esk. So with out further ado, this weeks What Movie is That is Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space was released in theaters on May 20, 1988. This film was directed by Stephen Chiodo and written by Charles Chiodo and Stephen Chiodo. This “interesting” film lasted about 82 minutes and was made with a budget of just under $2 Million.

This movie was filmed in Watsonville, California and along the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. WOOO local movie.

This film starred Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, and John Vernon.

Plot

When teenagers Mike (Grant Cramer) and Debbie (Suzanne Snyder) see a comet crash outside their sleepy small town, they investigate and discover a pack of murderous aliens who look very much like circus clowns. They try to warn the local authorities, but everyone assumes their story is a prank. Meanwhile, the clowns set about harvesting and eating as many people as they can. It’s not until they kidnap Debbie that Mike decides it’s up to him to stop the clowns’ bloody rampage.

My Thoughts on this Movie

So basically this movie is kind of terrible. I know, why would I choose to share a movie that I even consider terrible. Well, my friends, it’s because it is a CULT CLASSIC! This is literally the only movie with clowns that I can stand to watch. And I’m pretty sure it is because the clowns are so unrealistic looking. I mean they are basically rubber.

Also my sister has an intense clown phobia and she can even watch this movie. So I think it is save to say that I can indeed recommend this terrible, yet classic film for people to watch. I mean where else can you watch a bunch of murderous, alien circus clowns whose space ship is a freaking Big Top! Also they shoot killer popcorn at people! How crazy awesome is that?

Anyways, I would very much recommend that people give this movie at least one full watch through during this Halloween Season. I mean clowns & halloween kind of go hand in hand. Also who doesn’t love a B-horror movie? I know I do.

This film is available on YouTube, Amazon Video, Vudu, Google Play, & iTunes for $2.99. It could be available for streaming on Hulu or Netflix… I’m not sure.

Check it out. Comment below on what you think!
